Just a little post to introduce ourselves - we’re Kuleana.work, a coworking space that’s been open here on Kauai for the last 7 years, and we’ve learned a lot about running and nurturing a coworking space.

Origin story - we were tired of working in coffee shops (too loud, not private), in libraries (too quiet, not private), food courts (spillage!) and even at home (sooooo distracting) so we created our perfect workspace for ourselves. Quiet, lounge-y, friendly with “coworkers” that we could talk with, or not with all the amenities we needed. We took the name kuleana to reflect the responsibility we felt for our brothers’ and sisters’ success.

We’ve grown since then; made it through the pandemic and on our third location now, with better amenities all around. Of our first five members, two are on our board and one is our master craftsman in residence. Along the way we’ve really enhanced our core offerings and started programs to give back to the community - we’ve taught digital literacy, sponsored local artists, hosted biz development workshops and educational programs, and recently we’ve spun up Kauai’s first (and only) generative AI lab.

We’re pretty tech-savvy, we’re facing the future with optimism, and we’d love for you to join us. Come by and visit, become a member and work with us, or just stop by during our office hours and ask questions about generative AI, passwords, wifi, online scams, and so on.
